Raymond and Patricia Watje '60 Bequest Designation Makes Lasting Impact

Thanks to the visionary philanthropic planning by Raymond and Patricia '60 Watje, Whittier students have greatly benefited from their bequest gift which has supported Whittier Fund Scholarships.

Patricia appreciated her time at Whittier College and became a teacher after graduating. She taught at various schools in Riverside, CA. She loved art and travelled the world during her lifetime. She and her husband Raymond were also life-long learners who were students of our planet Earth, endeavoring to learn all they could about the world around us while travelling to 70 countries.

Both Raymond and Patricia had a "love of the land" as both came from families that relied on farming and agriculture for their livelihood.

Their legacy of caring for the land, life-long learning, caring for others and an openness to the world around us will live on through the scholarships they have provided.
